Lake Prespa Monument of Nature is managed by the Municipality of Resen in North Macedonia and together with Ezerani National Park is part of the Ohrid-Prespa Transboundary Biosphere Reserve and the Transboundary Prespa Park. These parks are recognised for their rich biodiversity, scenic landscapes, and cultural significance, playing a vital role in regional conservation efforts.
The parks encompass diverse ecosystems, including lakes, wetlands, forests, and grasslands, providing habitats for numerous plant and animal species, some of which are endangered. They serve as important sites for environmental research, eco-tourism, and community engagement, promoting sustainable use of natural resources. Ongoing efforts aim to strengthen management capacity, improve environmental monitoring, and support sustainable tourism and local livelihoods, ensuring the preservation and sustainable use of these valuable natural areas.
