Eko-svest, in collaboration with the Municipality of Vevchani, has officially opened the Permanent Nature Exhibition titled “Journey through the Natural Treasures of Vevchani Springs”. Situated within the Multicultural Center Kosta Srbakoski in Vevchani, this exhibition aims to promote the rich natural heritage of the Protected Area, Monument of Nature “Vevchani Springs” and the Jablanica mountain, through education and raising public awareness.

The Permanent Nature Exhibition serves as an educational centre for both primary and secondary schools visiting Vevchani and offers a range of one-day excursions. It is a must-see destination for visitors, students, and nature lovers. Through this exhibition, we demonstrate our determination to not only protect the Nature Monument “Vevchani Springs” but also the entire Jablanica region.

Designed to engage visitors of all ages, the exhibition features interactive and educational content presented in both Macedonian and English. It provides insights into the area’s natural wonders and highlights its unique biodiversity. Specially crafted interactive games are provided for young learners, offering educational experiences for elementary schools within the region and beyond. Coupled with outdoor educational activities and actions for citizen science, the exhibition enriches the learning journey for high school students and young nature enthusiasts.

The official opening ceremony was attended by large number of stakeholders from the community. The event was addressed by the Mayor Spase Kocovski of the Municipality of Vevchani, Mrs. Ana Colovic Lesoska the Executive Director of Eko-svest and Mrs. Mirjam de Koning, Director of the Prespa Ohrid Nature Trust.

The exhibition was created and installed by Eko-svest as part of the project “Supporting the sustainable management of the Monument of nature “Vevchani Springs” funded by Prespa Ohrid Nature Trust – PONT.

The goal of the project “Supporting the sustainable management of the Monument of nature “Vevchani Springs” implemented by Eko-svest and funded by Prespa Ohrid Nature Trust – PONT is to achieve long-term protection of the Monument of nature “Vevchani Springs” and prosperity of the local community through practices for sustainable management of the natural values of the protected area. In terms of this project, we are working on raising public awareness through education, improving the infrastructure for visitors, monitoring key species in the areas as well as attracting more visitors to the area.
