Experts from the Protection and Preservation of Natural Environment (PPNEA), in cooperation with RAPA Korce, have just completed the first assessment of camera traps set in Prespa National Park and they are happy to share photos of the wildlife diversity of this park.
With the support of PONT, PPNEA will continue wildlife monitoring and bear scat sample collecting through to December 2018. This is aimed at generating data for the brown bear assessment population within this Park. This extensive monitoring is happening also in Greek and Macedonian sides of Prespa, through other PrespaNet members.
PONT recognises that the monitoring of large carnivores is a crucial component of PPNEA’s work and on a wider scale for the conservation of the region. As such, PONT is a strong supporter of activities in this field
