Reinout Vos, Ambassador of the Netherlands to Albania and his wife visited Shebenik National Park on the 4th of June. The visit was organised by the Regional Administration of Protected Areas Elbasan, the local NGOs AlbNatyra and Agri-En in cooperation with PONT. The visitors learned about the natural values of the park in the visitor centre and enjoyed a picnic lunch in the beautiful location of Studen Field lake.

On World Environment Day, the 5th of June, the ambassador thanked the organisers:

“Corien and I would like to thank you once again for the wonderful day we yesterday spent in Shebenik National Park. Your commitment, professionalism and love for your region makes us optimistic for the future of nature and rural life in Albania. We were touched by the lunch, prepared by the women of Fushë Studen, and of course by the chants, performed by both men and women. An unforgettable day in the mountains! I thanked my German colleague for the support that his country is providing for your work through PONT. We will come back to Shebenik!”
