School children from Bitola visited Pelister National Park on 25 October to celebrate the Day of Climate Action. A recent temperature drop causing cold conditions didn’t scare the kids off to see and enjoy the beautiful nature and to learn more about the history and values of the park.
The event was organized by the local NGO ’COME, SEE & ENJOY in cooperation with the park management authority. After a short introduction in the information center of the park the children enjoyed walking the heritage trail passing beautiful Molika trees. During a picnic lunch the children discussed further with the staff and rangers from the Public Institution Pelister National Park and Goran Pinza, President of the local Bitola-based NGO ‘COME SEE & ENJOY’ established in the year 2018. The NGO recently started to organize outdoor trips for children to have fun together in nature after a difficult year due to the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions.
Later in the day the sun did its work showing the beauty of the autumn colors in the park.
