On 19 October certificates were awarded to 18 participants of the Youth Academy on nature-based tourism in Prespa. In June the Albanian Centre of Environmental Governance (ACEG) published a call for applications for Prespa community members to participate in a Youth Academy in the field of nature tourism. ACEG in co-operation with GIZ ProSEED/IDEA programme organized the Youth Academy in both municipalities (Devoll and Pustec).
The awarded participants have successfully completed the course that run from July – September and submitted a business plan for their own ideas developed during the training. In total 16 business plans will be evaluated by a panel consisting out of ACEG; Devoll Municipality; Pustec Municipality, GIZ ProSEED/IDEA programme and PONT. The selection criteria include eligibility in accordance to the call; authentication; marketing; natural sustainability; local benefit; and innovation.
The winner will receive a grant from PONT, through ACEG, to implement the business plan while the other participants can apply for grants under the IDEA programme.
The award ceremony took place in the presence of Mr. Eduard Duro, the Mayor of Devoll Municipality, as well are representatives of GIZ ProSEED/IDEA programme, PONT and ACEG.
